The Lapis vineyard is one of Tokaj’s historic first growth sites and in Zoltán Demeter’s hands, it becomes a precise expression of place rather than variety alone. Drawn from old Hárslevelű vines planted on rhyolite, clay and tufa soils above Bodrogkeresztúr, the wine is fermented in tank before ageing in large acacia barrels, preserving both texture and tension. Demeter’s approach to dry Tokaj remains deeply site-driven, focused on minerality, structure and quiet detail rather than overt aromatics or oak influence.
Tasting NoteFloral and lightly spiced on the nose, with citrus, orchard fruit and subtle savoury notes unfolding gradually in the glass. The palate is textured yet sharply defined, carried by saline minerality and bright acidity. A composed, mineral-driven white with depth, tension and long ageing potential.
